Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer for our Energy Solutions offices in Baltimore, Fairfax, Richmond, Boston, and California. You will help lead and support all phases of performance contracts, with a focus on HVAC design and energy calculations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 0–3 years of experience, is self-motivated, and ready to develop opportunities, present to clients, and advance CMTA’s collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Entry-level role; 0-3 years of energy services/commissioning experience preferred.
• HVAC design and commissioning background beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present project opportunities to potential clients.
• Support client meetings, industry events, and proposals.
• Project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
• Engineering design review of drawings and specifications.
• Support the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.
• Help facilitate the contract administration process.
• Work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.
• Commission installed systems to validate performance.
• Support the client through the warranty period as needed.
• Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop M&V reports.
