Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Solutions offices across several regions, including Richmond VA and Fairfax VA. You will contribute to all phases from conception to completion, applying HVAC design and energy calculations while developing client opportunities and supporting proposals.

The role is ideal for someone with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and up to 3 years’ energy services experience, ready to grow within a fast‑growing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 0–3 years of experience in an Energy Services company or consulting/commissioning firm preferred.
• Strong fundamentals in HVAC design and energy-focused engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and present project opportunities to potential clients.
• Support client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.
• Lead project development including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.
• Review drawings and specifications for engineering design quality.
• Assist bidding processes to ensure quality and competitiveness.
• Aid contract administration and coordinate with construction teams.
• Coordinate with M&V teams to develop performance reports.
• Commission installed systems to validate performance and warranty support.
