Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is seeking an entry-level Cook 1 to work under the guidance of the Sous Chef. Responsibilities include food preparation, tasting, presentation, and sanitation to meet the Executive Chef's standards.

You will prepare ingredients, cook using diverse methods, and present appealing meals while maintaining safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced kitchen. English proficiency and a Food Safety Certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must speak, read, and write English.
• Food Safety Certification.
• Six months of culinary experience or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing and peeling.
• Cook using baking, broiling, frying, steaming, braising and boiling; provide meals that are cooked, tasty and visually appealing.
• Provide high quality, fresh food to guests using standardized recipes and methods of preparation.
• Control waste with proper production levels and portion control.
• Store and label prepared and open food per Choctaw Nation food safety guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized work environment.
• Assist with set-up, service, and clean-up of food production.
• Rotate stock to ensure usage before the expiration date.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
