Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is hiring entry level Cook 1 positions across multiple venues at Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant. This role offers hands-on kitchen experience in a high-volume, professional setting under the supervision of a Sous Chef.

You will prepare ingredients, cook using grill, fry, bake, and ensure safe, properly seasoned dishes. English proficiency and a Food Safety Certification are required, with 6 months culinary experience or equivalent education.

Qualifications

• English speaking, reading, and writing required.
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain).
• 6 months of culinary experience or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.).
• Cook food using a variety of methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil).
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing.
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods.
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
