Job summary

Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma is hiring an Entry Level Cook 1 for multiple dining venues at Choctaw Casino & Resort Durant. The role offers FT status at $15/hr with weekends and holidays required, in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

You will learn under a Sous Chef, performing essential prep, cooking, and safety tasks across venues. Requirements include English proficiency, a Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain), and 6 months of culinary experience or equivalent education/experience.

Qualifications

• Must speak, read, and write English.
• 6 months of culinary experience OR equivalent culinary education/experience.
• Food safety certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients (wash, chop, slice, peel, etc.).
• Cook food using a variety of methods (grill, fry, bake, steam, braise, boil).
• Ensure food is properly seasoned, garnished, and visually appealing.
• Follow standardized recipes and preparation methods.
• Taste food prior to service to ensure quality.
• Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and rotation.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with kitchen setup, service, and cleanup.
• Minimize waste through proper portioning and production levels.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
