Job summary

Arizona Center for Nature Conservation, operating the Phoenix Zoo, seeks an IT Support Specialist for level one help desk tasks and IT operations. The role covers workstations, servers, printers, networks, IP phones, IP cameras, and related software in a dynamic, public environment.

The position is full time in the IT department, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional after-hours or weekend work. A valid driver’s license and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required; college degree in CS/IT or related field preferred.
• Broad knowledge of software applications, PC and network hardware.
• Excellent customer service skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and schedules concurrently.
• Comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical users.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment as needed.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Provide level one help-desk support for workstations, servers, printers and networks.
• Assist with Microsoft Office, Server products, Exchange, and major applications.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues on multiple platforms.
• Provide training and support for staff on existing and new technology.
• Install and maintain workstations, phones, and peripheral equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to ensure IT infrastructure reliability.
• Support IT documentation, implementation processes, and policies.
• Support on-call rotations to assist critical systems during weekends.
