Job summary

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is seeking an Information Technology Support Specialist - Tier 1 to be the first point of contact for IT issues across the organization. The role handles tier 1 service desk tasks, responding to requests, managing ticket queues, and escalating to Tier 2 when needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in IT, information systems, or CS, or 1–2 years related experience.
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test; valid driver’s license with good history.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer workstations, printers, and network devices.
• Provide expedited response to point-of-sale issues to maintain maximum uptime.
• Respond to end users; troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix hardware/software problems (PC and Apple).
• Maintain user accounts on the domain and provide access to network resources.
• Support staff use of Microsoft Office 365.
• Interface with zoo departments and vendors to report/resolve issues; develop solutions aligned with objectives.
• Provide instruction on proper use of equipment, software, and phones.
• Schedule updates to system software and device drivers.
• Maintain records of issues, resolutions, and maintenance schedules.
• Assist with maintenance and use of audio/visual systems.
• Assist Tier 2 support as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
