Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group seeks an entry-level Mechanical Engineering Graduate in New York to join the Engineering Development Training (EDT) program. You will support senior engineers, learn CAD/BIM, and contribute to design and documentation across diverse projects.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical engineering degree with graduation in Winter 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027, internship experience, and familiarity with MEP AutoCAD and REVIT. Strong teamwork and readiness to learn are valued.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Mechanical engineering with a graduation date Winter 2026, Spring or Summer of 2027
Previous engineering internship is a plus
Knowledge of the latest version of MEP Auto CAD; REVIT experience is a plus
Proficient in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite
E.I.T. or FE preferred

Responsibilities

Create basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer
Learn drawing organization and company standards
Perform CAD/BIM-drafting for a variety of projects and project sizes
Coordination with the designs of other trades under guidance of senior staff
Support the design and engineering efforts for new installations, retrofits, replacements and upgrades
Take ownership of the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the work
Assist engineers with field investigations and site visits
Participate in EDT program training activities
Attend Engineering Development Program continuing education seminars
