Job summary

Lumen Technologies in Tampa is hiring a Field Technician I to manage assets, replenish consumables, and coordinate shipping/receiving of materials. You will maintain fiber and power equipment, assist in tests, and support restoration efforts to sustain network integrity.

Ideal candidates have basic knowledge of DS0 through OC192, and the ability to learn trouble ticketing, provisioning, and inventory systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
• Entry-level technician with knowledge of Transmission, Switching, TCP/IP, and Outside Plant disciplines.
• Must maintain site security and cleanliness; able to lift 50 lbs; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment, replaces defective parts, and works to restore service.
• Assists in installation, change, decommission and testing of Next Generation technologies.
• Uses tools to locate and protect underground facilities.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment including HVAC and DC power plants.
• Updates inventory records and time logs; reports status to management.
• Learns trouble ticketing, provisioning, and materials systems with coaching.
