Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Field Technician I in Texas to support asset management, deliveries, and provisioning of fiber optic and network equipment. You will maintain tools, test sets, and equipment including fiber optics, power, and other infrastructure, and assist in installs, tests, and restoration of services.

You will monitor trouble tickets, update records, and provide status reports. The role requires on-site work, a valid driver's license, physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and occasional

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with network monitoring, installation, or maintenance.
• Ability to learn corporate databases and basic Windows/Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment, replaces defective parts, and helps restore service.
• Supports installation/change/decommissioning of next-gen technologies and CPE where applicable.
• Locates and protects underground facilities using standard tools.
• Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and DC power systems.
• Maintains asset records, tracks spares, and logs updates in trouble tickets.
• Provides status updates and reports issues to management; assists in on-call rotations.
