Job summary

WSP USA in the upper Midwest is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Early Career Field Services Technician to support on-site electrical testing and commissioning for substations and power systems.

Under supervision, you will assist with inspection, testing, and troubleshooting, use testing instruments, and learn safety practices while working across multiple sites. Willingness to travel up to 80% and lift up to 35 pounds is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in electrical testing or related field capacity.
• Interest in field service work with HV equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist basic inspection and testing activities on HV systems.
• Assist with routine field tasks using testing instruments.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE.
• Maintain attendance and communicate assignments clearly.
• Travel to multiple sites as required.
