Job summary

WSP is seeking an entry-level POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Early Career Field Services Technician for the upper Midwest. You will support field operations in electrical testing and commissioning for substations, industrial and bulk power systems, under supervision.

Key activities include assisting with testing, data collection, and documentation, while developing core proficiencies in equipment handling, safety practices, and field procedures. Willingness to travel and learn is required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Some experience in electrical testing or related field.
• Interest in field service work for medium/high voltage components.
• Completion of electrical circuits analysis series or AC power system theory.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Willingness to participate in safety and training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist with basic inspection and testing activities.
• Assist with protection and controls testing and troubleshooting.
• Learn field safety practices and proper PPE usage.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
• Maintain attendance and communicate about assignments.
• Work Cooperatively with crew members and maintain professional behavior.
• Develop basic field navigation and safe work practices.
