Job summary

WSP is seeking a POWER Testing and Energization (PTE) Early Career Field Services Technician for the upper Midwest. This entry-level role provides support across environmental sampling, field operations, and electrical testing for substations and power systems, under close supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience with testing instruments, safety procedures, and documentation while contributing to project readiness and quality assurance in a growing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some electrical testing experience or related work is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Willingness to participate in safety and operational training sessions.
• Must be able to travel up to 80% and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist with basic inspection and testing activities under supervision.
• Support protection and controls testing and use testing instruments in the field.
• Follow site safety practices and report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain attendance, communicate assignments, and work well with team members.
• Build foundational technical skills in electrical testing and field operations.
