Job summary

WSP is seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer to join our Phoenix, AZ office. The role involves performing electrical studies, SCADA, and protection tasks on a variety of power delivery projects.

Applicants located in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Sacramento will also be considered. The position offers exposure to projects across conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, transmission and distribution systems, with opportunities for field travel and professional growth.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree required from ABET-accredited university.
• 3–5 years of industry experience in design or device configuration.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and system protection tasks.
• Contribute to protective relaying, coordination, and relay settings calculations.
• Conduct power system planning studies including load flow and voltage stability analysis.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation with calculations and sketches.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to identify risks and mitigation options.
