Job summary

Mediacom Communications in Marion, IL is seeking a Customer Sales & Service Representative I at the front counter to assist customers in person and over the phone, handling product questions, billing issues, and basic service troubleshooting.

You will promote Mediacom services, process payments, schedule service visits, manage inventory and equipment, and stay informed about current campaigns. The role requires 1–3 years in customer service, cash handling, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of call center, retail, or consumer sales experience.
• Experience handling cash, payments, and basic reconciliation.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate to advanced PC skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and retention targets by following policies and procedures.
• Assist customers in selecting and purchasing products and services.
• Provide clear information about Mediacom products, services, billing, and equipment usage.
• Stay informed of marketing campaigns and communicate them to customers.
• Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot basic service issues, and schedule on-site service calls.
• Process customer payments, balance cash drawers, and verify money accuracy.
• Issue and receive equipment with proper documentation and inventory controls.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and courteous conduct.
• Ensure customer interactions meet sales, quality, and productivity standards.
• Take incoming calls to identify root causes and provide resolutions.
