Job summary

Mediacom Communications is seeking a Customer Sales & Service Representative I at the Dubuque front counter to assist customers in person and over the phone, handling product inquiries, billing questions, and service troubleshooting.

Responsibilities include selling services, processing payments, scheduling service calls, and maintaining equipment and inventory, while upholding company policies. Evening and weekend availability is required with potential travel within the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in call center, retail, or consumer sales.
• Experience handling cash and payments.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate to advanced PC skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, overtime.
• Familiarity with data entry and customer management systems.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales and retention targets by following established departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist customers in selecting and purchasing products and services that meet their needs.
• Provide clear information about Mediacom products, services, features, billing procedures, and equipment usage.
• Stay informed of current marketing campaigns and offers and communicate these to customers.
• Respond to customer inquiries, troubleshoot basic service issues, and schedule on-site service calls when necessary.
• Process customer payments, balance cash drawers daily, and verify the accuracy of all received monies.
• Issue and receive equipment from customers, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to inventory controls.
• Maintain a neat and professional appearance and work area, conduct oneself respectfully, responsibly, and courteously.
• Ensure all interactions meet minimum sales, quality, and productivity standards.
• Demonstrate courtesy, patience, and professionalism in all customer relations.
• Identify root cause of customer issues and provide resolution via incoming calls.
• Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
• Regular attendance is required.
