Job summary

ECS Limited is hiring a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join our Milwaukee team. No experience is required as you will be trained under experienced professionals to safely perform a variety of tasks, including field observation, testing, sampling, and data collection.

We offer paid training and will cover certification fees. You will work under guidance to learn CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards, with opportunities to advance through OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, and

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
• Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials on construction materials testing project sites under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and/or laboratory tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using industry-standard methodologies and equipment.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; assist with calculations, drafting, and administrative duties as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers; communicate changes and additional testing requirements to supervisor; attend project meetings as requested.
• Training and Development: Receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings with precision.
