Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Asheville, NC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician with no prior experience. You will learn under seasoned professionals to safely perform field testing, sampling soils, aggregates, and concrete on construction sites.

Responsibilities include data collection, routine tests, and coordinating with project teams. The role offers paid training, potential OSHA 10, and opportunities to pursue certifications as you gain experience.

Qualifications

No experience required.
High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards.
OSHA 10 certification may be required.

Responsibilities

Field Activities: Observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete at sites under supervision.
Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests per industry standards.
Data Collection: Record results and assist with calculations and admin duties as requested.
Communication: Maintain daily contact with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
Training and Development: Learn ECS methodology and document findings precisely.
