Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in Raleigh to grow with a dynamic team. No prior experience is required as you learn under experienced professionals while performing soils, aggregate, and concrete tests on project sites.

You’ll receive on-the-job training, guidance from senior staff, and opportunities to pursue CMT certifications. The role emphasizes safety, accurate data collection, and collaboration with contractors and supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to lift at least 85 pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and ASTM standards.
• OSHA 10 certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Field activities: observe, test, and sample soils, aggregates, and concrete at sites under supervision.
• Perform routine field tests and follow industry standards with appropriate equipment.
• Collect data, perform calculations, and support drafting/administrative tasks as needed.
• Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changes to supervisor.
