Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician in York to learn on the job and grow with the team. No experience is required, as you’ll be guided by experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks.

Starting pay is $20 per hour, with paid training and certification fee coverage. You’ll gain hands-on field experience testing soils, aggregates, and concrete while developing safety and technical skills on active construction sites.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Willing to develop understanding of CMT principles and applications.

Responsibilities

• Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials, including soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites; execute tasks under supervision.
• Testing Procedures: Perform routine field tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete following industry standards and procedures.
• Data Collection: Perform calculations and data reduction based on sampling, test results, and inspection; assist with calculations, drafting, and admin duties as requested.
• Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report changing site conditions and testing requests to supervisor.
