Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Miami seeks a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician with no prior experience. You will learn under seasoned professionals to perform field sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, and concrete, while earning certifications and advancing in a safety‑driven environment.

Responsibilities include conducting field tests, collecting data, and communicating findings to project managers.

Qualifications

  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
  • Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies.
  • Willing to develop understanding of heavy construction safety, practices, and procedures.
  • Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT principles and applications, as well as ASTM laboratory standards, leading to certifications in soils, concrete, and radiation safety.
  • OSHA 10 certification may be required.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, peers, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials on construction sites; follow project requirements under supervision.
  • Testing Procedures: Perform routine field tests for soils, aggregates, and concrete using standard methods.
  • Data Collection: Calculate and reduce data from sampling and test results; assist with calculations and drafting as needed.
  • Communication: Maintain daily communication with site contractors and project managers; report site changes and testing needs to supervisor.
