ECS Group of Companies in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Field Technician. This role is primarily field-based, collecting data, observing site conditions, and supporting testing activities under supervision.

No experience is required—paid training is provided, and ECS covers certification fees. The position offers growth, regular communication with project teams, and opportunities to gain core CMT competencies on diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Obtain basic certifications per ECS policy.
  • Valid driver’s license if operating ECS vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Performs field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision
  • Assists with construction materials testing activities on project sites
  • Communicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
  • Reports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors
  • Assists with preparation and submission of daily field reports
  • Supports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining field equipment
  • Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment
  • Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested
  • Performs other field and project support duties as assigned
