Job summary

Mecklenburg County seeks a Child Support Case Coordinator to support the Department Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The entry level role handles professional case management for child support services under federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities include initiating orders, monitoring payments, mediating, establishing paternity, and preparing cases for legal action. Training and knowledge checks are provided during the initial period.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in case management, eligibility, investigative, financial services, judiciary, or legal work.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, prepare, organize, and enforce child support orders in accordance with program requirements.
• Monitor court-ordered payments and take action when the absent parent is non-compliant.
• Mediate out of court and schedule court appearances; monitor cases for compliance.
• Establish voluntary and judicial paternity and support.
• Prepare cases for legal action and support orders; analyze and reconcile accounts.
