Qualifications

• High school diploma with additional training and related work experience.
• Ability to determine eligibility and document data accurately.
• Knowledge of laws governing social service programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews to determine eligibility for assistance and re-determine ongoing eligibility.
• Explain temporary assistance programs and determine need for services.
• Process applications for financial assistance and diversion, and inform clients of rights and responsibilities.
• Evaluate data for completeness and accuracy, substantiating as needed.
• Compute assistance plans and determine the need for allowances for special items.
• Assess education, work experience, and social functioning relevant to eligibility.
• Evaluate clients' employability and explore potential income sources.
