Responsibilities

• Explains programs and determines need for assistance.
• Processes applications for financial assistance and diversion; assesses eligibility and benefit levels.
• Interprets policies applicable to programs.
• Monitors cases for changes and updates benefits within guidelines.
• Evaluates employability and explains client responsibilities.
• Frames referrals to service workers and maintains case records.
• Identifies potential fraud and substantiates data accuracy.
• Explains program rights and explores other income sources.
• Computes assistance plans and determines allowances for special items.
• Identifies social problems and refers to Social Workers.
• Provides information about other agencies for needed services.
