Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance. The role involves supporting teachers, planning activities, and monitoring progress in classrooms and school environments.

Entry-level, paid, full-time position with two to four weeks of initial training. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and student loan support; relocation assistance; and opportunities for ongoing education partnerships.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident. Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Develop interpersonal skills through learning, practice, reflection and repetition.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, analyze and monitor student progress.
