Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a Spirit Defense subsidiary of The Boeing Company, seeks a tool engineering professional to design and support tooling for airplane manufacturing. You will lead efforts to improve processes, apply structural analysis, and develop NC-ready tooling layouts and digital models.

Role requires engineering degree (ABET) with 3–5 years of experience and willingness to obtain U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree or Master’s with relevant experience.
  • Willingness to obtain U.S. security clearance (citizenship required).
  • Experience with aerospace tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Applies engineering principles to design and support airplane manufacturing tools.
  • Develops designs including concept, analysis of structures, and tool definition.
  • Identifies and implements technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Displays leadership in tool engineering across programs and interfaces with stakeholders.
  • Lays out tool designs using computer-generated models and NC data preparation.
  • Provides producibility input and conducts quality verification via SPC and other methods.
