Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Tooling Engineer to design and support airplane manufacturing tooling. You will apply engineering principles to create tools, analyze structures, and drive process improvements across jig, fixture, and NC systems.

The role requires 5+ years of related experience, active U.S. Secret security clearance, and a B.S. in Engineering Technology; CAD, SAP, and 3D printing skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required.
• U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Applies engineering principles to design and support airplane manufacturing tools.
• Develops designs including concept, analysis of structural/mechanical systems, and tool definition.
• Identifies and implements advanced technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
• Resolves fabrication concerns using engineering principles such as stress analysis.
• Conducts trade and cost studies and ensures parts meet manufacturing plans.
