Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking an Enterprise Resilience professional to strengthen the organization’s ability to anticipate, withstand, respond to, recover from, and adapt to disruptions. The role connects technical recoverability with business outcomes and partners across Cyber Security, IT, Disaster Recovery, and Business Continuity.

Responsibilities include developing resilience standards, mapping critical services, planning exercises, and maturing recovery environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years IT program/project management experience.
• 5+ years in enterprise resilience, cyber resilience, disaster recovery, or related fields.
• Experience planning or supporting disaster recovery tests, tabletop exercises, or business continuity exercises.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Resilience Program, including governance, standards, procedures, playbooks, reporting, and program documentation.
• Identify and map Critical Business Services and the people, processes, technology, data, facilities, and third parties required to deliver them.
• Define and validate impact tolerances, recovery time objectives, recovery point objectives, minimum service levels, and recovery priorities.
• Plan, coordinate, and document resilience assessments, tabletop exercises, disaster recovery tests, cyber recovery exercises, and simulations.
• Track findings, risks, decisions, owners, due dates, and corrective actions through closure; elevate material gaps as needed.
• Enhance backup/recovery capabilities with Rubrik, Azure-native backups, SQL-native backups, and Veeam.
• Improve ransomware-resilient recovery with immutable backups, clean-point validation, and data integrity checks.
• Help build isolated recovery environments and automate restore testing.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises with cross-functional teams to validate recoverability.
• Coordinate cyber/business tabletop exercises to test decision-making and recovery actions.
• Support containment, response, and recovery during disruptive events and document key decisions.
• Conduct after-action reviews and turn lessons into measurable improvements.
• Assess third-party resilience for critical services and dependencies.
• Develop dashboards and executive-ready reporting on recovery readiness and resilience maturity.
