Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in New York City is seeking an Account Executive for the Public Sector, Enterprise team to drive revenue with state and local government customers. You will partner with customers and diverse teams to identify opportunities, develop go-to-market plans, and influence contract strategy.

This role blends sales and technical insight, engaging CXO level and IT architects to shape cloud adoption and services while aligning with procurement and legal processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional or military experience in sales or related fields.
• Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to close deals.
• Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Grow adoption and deepen cloud engagement with government customers.
• Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to define go-to-market strategies.
• Articulate and implement strategic territory and account plans aligned to AWS's direction.
• Understand public sector procurement processes and certifications.
• Identify prospects and channels and communicate a compelling value proposition.
• Collaborate with customers to ensure successful AWS service adoption and cloud use cases.
• Guide customer IT development teams to shape product direction and offerings.
• Collaborate with Legal and others to manage contract negotiations.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast of opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management.
