Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Senior Ontologist and Knowledge Architecture Lead to own the design, governance, and delivery of enterprise knowledge graph initiatives. You will guide semantic modeling strategy, ontology governance, and the technical direction of a cross-functional team spanning business stakeholders, data engineering, and AI/ML disciplines.

The role emphasizes leadership in ontology design, alignment with business goals, and advancing semantic pipelines across data sources.

Qualifications

Minimum 12 years hands-on experience in ontology engineering or knowledge modeling.
Proven track record delivering production-grade domain ontologies in large enterprises.
Experience leading technical standards, team development, and roadmaps.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or PhD) in Information Science or related field.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end ontology lifecycle: requirements, conceptual modeling, formal specification (OWL 2, RDFS, SKOS), validation and deployment.
Define enterprise ontology architecture and URI strategy; align with upper ontologies.
Lead governance: versioning, change control, quality gates and deprecation policies.
Lead SME workshops, translate modeling decisions for non-technical audiences, and align with stakeholders.
Guide NLP/AI integration and ontology-informed feature engineering.
