Job summary

OpenRouter, Inc. is seeking a Customer Engineer to serve as the technical quarterback for enterprise sales cycles, partnering with account executives to conduct discovery, deliver demos, architect solutions, and address technical objections.

You’ll be the trusted advisor guiding prospects through AI challenges with OpenRouter’s offerings. This role sits at the intersection of sales, engineering, and product, requiring comfort in customer meetings, building demo environments, and providing

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Sales Engineer, Customer Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect role in B2B SaaS/API/Infrastructure platforms.
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, APIs, or cloud infrastructure.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Customer-first mindset with genuine desire to help customers succeed.
• Experience in AI/ML technologies, LLMs, or machine learning platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery calls to understand prospect AI/ML architecture and requirements.
• Develop expertise in OpenRouter’s products and how they solve business problems.
• Assess technical fit including API integration, model requirements, and data residency needs.
• Design and deliver customized product demonstrations for prospects’ use cases.
• Create demos and manage proof-of-concept environments.
• Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle and respond to technical questions.
• Address objections and support contract negotiations on technical terms, SLAs, and timelines.
• Provide feedback to Product and Engineering on feature requests and market needs.
• Stay current on AI/ML trends and competitive landscape.
