Job summary

M&T Bank is seeking a senior leader to own and operate the enterprise AI platform, including the Azure API Management gateway and Azure AI Foundry. You will direct platform lifecycle, model onboarding, vendor oversight and observability in a regulated environment.

The role requires extensive experience in API gateway operations, cloud platforms and FinOps, with a focus on reliability, security and cross-functional collaboration across Technology and Risk teams.

Qualifications

• Direct experience operating API gateway infrastructure at scale.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and technologies.
• Experience managing production gateway capabilities, including routing.
• Experience with FinOps or cloud cost management at the platform level.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy, engineering and ongoing operation of M&T Bank’s enterprise AI platform, including the gateway and Azure Foundry.
• Oversee gateway traffic management, rate limiting, identity integration and platform performance.
• Establish platform SLAs, runbooks, on-call practices and incident response processes.
• Ensure the AI platform is reliable, scalable and compliant with risk and regulatory standards.
• Lead vendor relationships and the transition of capabilities to internal teams.
• Build and manage observability capabilities, including cost monitoring and audit trails.
