Job summary

M&T Bank seeks a high-impact leader to own and operate its enterprise AI platform, including the Azure API Management gateway and Azure AI Foundry. You will oversee lifecycle environments, observability, security controls and risk governance across multiple applications.

You will manage a budget, supervise engineering talent, and partner with technology leadership to define strategy and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering scalable AI solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum combined 11 years of higher education and/or work experience including leadership roles.
• Experience operating API gateway infrastructure at scale (e.g., Azure API Management).
• Strong governance, risk and regulatory awareness in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, engineering and operation of the enterprise AI platform including gateway and cloud infrastructure.
• Oversee gateway traffic management, rate limiting, identity integration and routing.
• Establish platform SLAs, runbooks, on-call practices, and incident response processes.
• Ensure platform reliability, resilience, and scalability for AI use cases.
• Oversee model onboarding, cost management and lifecycle management.
• Lead vendor relationships and transition vendor capabilities to internal teams.
