Job summary

Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) is seeking a dedicated Student Success Advisor to help students navigate admissions, enrollment, and academic planning. You will provide advising, connect students with resources, and support retention and completion across their educational journeys.

This role collaborates with faculty, staff, and community partners to create an inviting environment from first contact through graduation and beyond, ensuring students are prepared for success and informed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse audiences and adapt communication styles.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for outreach.
• Experience in higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist prospective students with admissions, enrollment requirements, and program information.
• Provide academic advising, course selection, registration, and schedule planning.
• Maintain regular communication with students to identify challenges and support retention.
• Help students align goals with appropriate education pathways and services.
• Participate in recruitment and outreach at high schools and community events.
• Collaborate with Marketing to share information about programs and resources.
• Build relationships with four-year institutions to support transfer opportunities.
• Maintain accurate student records and document advising activities.
• Communicate policies, deadlines, and transfer requirements to students.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus departments on student success initiatives.
• Participate in College committees and professional development.
