Job summary

Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) seeks a Dean of Student Services to lead a comprehensive range of student support services, including accessibility, advising, enrollment, financial aid, TRIO, and records. The role reports to the Vice President for Student Success & Support Services and requires collaboration with faculty, staff, and external partners to promote access, retention, and success.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in higher education administration or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience working with students in at least one operational area of Student Services.
• Leadership experience supervising Student Services functions.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and programs relating to students.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
• Commitment to the mission of a public community college.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and administrative oversight for Student Services programs, operations, and personnel.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures supporting operations and student success.
• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate assigned Student Services personnel.
• Oversee accessibility services, advising and enrollment, career coaching, financial aid, outreach, records, and TRIO programs.
• Lead initiatives to strengthen recruitment, enrollment, retention, advising, and graduation.
• Collaborate with academic leadership to align student services with institutional priorities.
• Contribute to planning, budgeting, and policy decisions affecting student services.
• Maintain relationships with educational institutions, community partners, and service agencies.
• Support students facing academic or personal challenges by guiding to campus and community resources.
• Administer and enforce the Student Code of Conduct and serve as Title IX Coordinator as assigned.
