Job summary

Terracon is seeking a field/lab testing technician to perform tests on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel while documenting results. You will communicate findings to the Project Manager, help with data submission, and maintain equipment to uphold safety and quality standards on all projects.

Under supervision, you’ll gain experience through increasing responsibilities, coordinate with site staff, and ensure compliance with safety requirements and project specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months of experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, assist on tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
• Communicate information to Project Manager and discuss data accuracy for submittal.
• Submit documentation and communicate results as directed by the Project Manager.
• Progressively increase training and responsibility in work assignments.
• Maintain assigned equipment.
• Follow safety rules and practices and report any safety issues to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
