Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the testing of space hardware, including RF, optical and digital systems. The role requires meticulous adherence to procedures and the ability to work with sensitive hardware in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time contract position in Palm Bay, FL involves setup, calibration verification, and automated testing using LabVIEW and TestStand, with security clearance requirements and coordination with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• Experience handling very sensitive hardware and high-density connectors.
• Experience with qualification testing including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing.

Responsibilities

• Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations.
• Set up tests per written documentation and engineering direction.
• Verify all test equipment is in calibration.
• Verify all licensed test software is not expired.
• Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures.
• Perform tests and record required information.
• Document failures and report anomalies to stakeholders.
• Execute automated software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand GUIs.
• Troubleshoot failed assemblies with engineering oversight.
• Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and power supplies.
• Must have an active Secret security clearance.

Engineering Technician

Position Type: Full-Time Contract, Contract to hire

Duration: 12 months

Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905

As an Engineering Technician you will:

• Test Engineering Technician who will support the manual and automated testing of space hardware.
• Testing may be performed at the circuit card, assembly, sub-system, and/or space vehicle level.
• Experience handling sensitive hardware, very strong computer skills, and the ability to strictly adhere to documented procedures is a must.
• Prior experience with RF, optical and/or digital technology is a must.

Responsibilities

• Transport test equipment, fixtures, and cables to required testing locations.
• Setup tests per written documentation and engineering direction.
• Verify all test equipment is in calibration.
• Verify all licensed test software is not expired.
• Assemble custom or COTS equipment/fixtures.
• Performs test and records required information.
• Document failures and reports any anomalies to key stakeholders.
• Executing automated software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand GUIs.
• Troubleshooting failed assemblies with engineering oversight.
• Operate RF, optical and/or digital test equipment including network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, noise figure analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, OTDRs, OBRs, lasers, SOAs, BERT, DMMs and power supplies.
• This Position Needs Active Secret Security clearance.

Preferred Skills

• Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• Experience handling very sensitive and fragile hardware, including mating and de‑mating high‑density connectors, RF, and optical connections.
• Experience with qualification testing, including vibration, thermal and thermal vacuum testing.

Ideal candidate will have

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W‑2 basis. 1099 contractors and Corp‑to‑Corp arrangements will not be considered for this position.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS

Pay Range*: $38-$40 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
