Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a 12-month, full-time contract in Salt Lake City, UT. You will design hardware for motion control, servo systems, and power electronics spanning concept to production.

Responsibilities include designing brushless motor drives, inverters, encoders interfaces, and verification using MATLAB/Simulink and LTspice. A Secret clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Design hardware for brushless 3-phase motor drives, inverter circuits, and servo control systems.
• Develop analog, digital, and power electronics schematics for circuit card assemblies.
• Support hardware bring-up, debug, integration, verification, and production transition.
• Apply control theory concepts such as PID and compensation techniques to motion control designs.
• Develop interfaces for encoders, resolvers, actuators, and related feedback devices.
• Use simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and LTspice to validate designs.
• Partner with systems, mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and test engineers to ensure successful product execution.
• Support communication interfaces such as CAN bus and EtherCAT, as needed.
• This Position Needs Active Secret Security clearance.

As an Electrical Engineer you will:

• Help develop advanced motion control and power electronics solutions.
• In this role, you will design and support hardware for servo systems, brushless motor drives, and inverter-based power stages used in high-performance applications.
• This is an opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle - from concept and architecture through design, test, integration, qualification, and production - while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Proven track record of designs that include motor drives, servo systems, and power electronics hardware design.
• Knowledge of stepper motors, motion control systems, or actuator test setups.
• Familiarity with C, C++, or VHDL.
• Experience with schematic capture and simulation tools such as Mentor Graphics and SPICE.
• Strong lab debugging and test experience with standard electrical lab equipment.
• Experience in military, aerospace, ruggedized, or high-reliability product environments.

Ideal candidate will have

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or Graduate degree with 4+ years of related experience; or 10+ years of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.

Pay Range and Benefits

Pay Range*:

$65-$67 per hour

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
