Innova Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract in Palm Bay, FL. You will drive design and testing of complex electro-mechanical hardware, lead requirements, and participate in design reviews within a multi-disciplinary team.

The role demands hands-on lab work, CAD proficiency (Creo), and DFMA/DFM experience, with independence to work across program phases. An active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in mechanical engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience forBachelor’s, or 4+ years with graduate degree.
• Experience with precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own larger aspects of the system and lead design activities.
• Define requirements, perform trade studies, and prepare design documentation.
• Lead interdisciplinary design reviews (PDRs/CDRs) and participate in product changes.
• Prototype, integrate, and test component parts and assemblies.
• Provide field support and act as ME field representative as needed.

Job Description

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Mechanical Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract, Contract to hire

Duration: 12 months

Location: Palm Bay, FL 32905

• Mechanical Engineer to perform process design, development, and qualification/testing tasks on complex mechanical hardware including precision mechanisms and electro-mechanical hardware, in a program team environment.
• Candidate is expected to own larger aspects of the system and be flexible with tasking as the program evolves.
• Program support and technical leadership over requirements definition, concept generation, material selection, trade studies, design sensitivity/optimization studies, preliminary and final design, design documentation, and assembly/integration and testing may be required.
• Experience in 3D modeling, critical HW design and development and the ability to work independently within a multi-disciplined team environment.
• Lab environment and be hands-on with hardware.

• Provide regular communication and briefings, both formally and informally, to internal and external stakeholders, including customer representatives Generation of Technical Data Package components (Part and Assembly drawings, etc.).
• Prototype, Integrate, and Test component parts and assemblies.
• Develop test plans and procedures for mechanical subsystems.
• Perform test and evaluation of component parts and systems.
• Participate in peer reviews, PDRs, CDRs, and other required design reviews.
• Participate in product change review meetings and discussions and implement changes.
• Participate in interdisciplinary design teams and reviews. Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Processes for product development, configuration management, purchasing, quality, etc.
• Direct Designers, Technicians, and Operators as part of a design team.
• Support field testing/demonstration efforts as an ME field representative.
• This Position needs Active TS/SCI CI Poly Security Clearance.

• Experience in design or development of precision mechanisms mechatronic systems packaging of modules and electronics Consideration of thermal and structural loading Optimizations for size, weight, and power.
• Proficiency in CAD tools such as Creo and understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards.
• Experience with any of the following: actuators, custom gear trains, electro-optical systems, and materials testing Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/DFMA) experience.
• Experience with machined part design plastic and/or sheet metal part design.
• Manufacturing technologies and design best practices Understanding of EVMS cost and schedule practices.

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

This position is only open to applicants who can be engaged on a W-2 basis.

Pay Range*: $60-$65 per hour

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
