Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a full-time contract in Cincinnati, OH. The role focuses on rugged analog/digital electronics for ordnance, tolerance analyses, requirements refinement, and test plan/report generation across the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in ESAD/ISD design, MIL-STD-1316/1901A, power electronics, and experience leading design reviews. Strong communication and customer-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BSEE/CompE or related discipline with 6+ years experience.
• MSEE/CompE or related discipline with 4+ years experience.
• In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• 6+ years designing basic analog blocks (diff amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, data converters).
• 4+ years designing digital blocks (logic gates, flip-flops, timers, filters).
• 3+ years with power supplies and conditioning design.
• 3+ years with power conversion concepts (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC, Linear/ Switching).
• 3+ years with serial buses (UART, SPI, I2C).
• 2+ years with sensors (MEMs accelerometers, temp sensors, etc.).
• 3+ years with design best practices (EMI/ESD/short-circuit).
• 6+ years module design (component selection, circuit analysis, layout).
• 6+ years troubleshooting with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, generators, meters).
• 4+ years modeling/simulation (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink).
• 4+ years schematic capture/board layout (Altium, PADS).
• 4+ years leading large-scale technical projects with minimal guidance.
• 4+ years participating in design reviews and creating technical documentation.

Job Title and Type

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring an Electrical Engineer. Position Type: Full time Contract, Contract to Hire Duration: 12 months Location: Cincinnati, OH

Responsibilities

• Analog and digital design of ruggedized electronics for ordnance applications.
• Circuit tolerance analyses using hand calculations and Spice tools.
• Requirements development, refinement, and compliance.
• Generate test plans and test reports related to product performance (Brassboard, Design Verification, Qualification, Firing Properties, etc.).
• Lead and direct test activities in all phases of product development cycle.
• Lead or assist in failure investigations using structured tools (8D, Fishbone, Cause & Effect, etc.).
• Generate material for and lead design reviews for all phases of the product development cycle.
• Act as primary technical interface to internal and external customers.
• Provide inputs (material and labor estimates) for Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Generate Engineering Orders (EOs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
• Lead and multi-task across several projects simultaneously.

Preferred Additional Skills

• 4+ Years designing Electronic Safety and Arming Devices (ESADs) and Ignition Safety Devices IAW MIL-STD-1316 and MIL-STD-1901A.
• 4+ years of experience presenting ESAD/ESAF/ISD designs to the Safety Review Boards (AFSRB, FISTRP, NNMSB).
• 2+ years of experience energetic materials interfacing/testing (EFDIs, LEEFIs, Lead Charges, Boosters).
• 4+ years of design for extreme environments (Vibration, Shock, Temperature, Temperature & Humidity).
• Team Player with excellent communication skills to work effectively across different engineering disciplines.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• BSEE/CompE or related discipline and 6 years of experience.
• MSEE/CompE or related discipline and 4 years of experience.

• 6+ years of experience designing basic analog building blocks including differential amplifiers, op amps, LDOs, filters, and data converters.
• 4+ years of experience designing with basic digital building blocks including logic gates, flip flops, timers, and filters.
• 3+ years of experience with power supply and power conditioning design.
• 3+ years of experience with power conversion concepts (AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies).
• 3+ years of experience with serial communication buses including UART, SPI, and I2C.
• 2+ years of experience with Temperature sensors, MEMs accelerometers, differential pressure sensors, gyroscopes, etc.
• 2+ years of experience with general design best practices (EMI suppression, ESD protection, and short circuit protection).
• 6+ years of experience with module design including component selection, circuit analysis, circuit design, and layout.
• 6+ years of experience troubleshooting using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, etc.).
• 4+ years of experience with modeling and simulation utilities (LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, etc.).
• 4+ years of experience with schematic capture and/or board layout utilities (Altium, PADS, etc.).
• 4+ years of experience leading a large-scale technical project from start to completion with minimal guidance.
• 4+ years of experience in preparing and participating in design reviews (internal and external).
• 4+ years of experience in creating Technical Documentation (Test Plans, Test Reports, Drawings, etc.).
• 3+ years of experience with Root Cause analysis.

Pay Range

Pay Range*: $60 - $66 per hour. *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
