Job summary

Invitation Homes is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and mentor engineering teams building software used by customers and employees. This role blends hands-on coding, architecture leadership, and team management in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with Product and Platform Owners, drive roadmap execution, ensure high availability, scalability, and performance, and foster a culture that aligns with our values.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional development experience and 2+ years of recent experience managing an engineering team
• Experience working in agile development environment
• Deep understanding of software and development engineering principles and concepts
• Deep technical skills in one or more areas: JavaScript Development, C# Development, SQL Development, MSSQL, Postgres, Node.js, React, AWS, CI/CD, Mulesoft, Salesforce
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
• Sound judgment and swift decision-making skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Collaboration and consensus-building abilities
• Knowledge of system design, data structures and algorithms
• Experience with distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transactions
• Love of technology and ongoing learning

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy solutions with focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability
• Lead team of developers and define future technical architecture for software and tools
• Collaborate to define and execute team roadmaps
• Write documentation for architectures and integrations
• Measure features and system metrics to improve user experience and performance
• Grow and inspire engineers through coaching and career development
• Work with Product and Platform Owners, QA, and other teams in an agile environment
• Cultivate a healthy engineering culture aligned with company values
