Job summary

Fanatics is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow one or more engineering teams responsible for customer-facing products and internal platforms. You will drive architecture decisions, align with product roadmaps, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding best practices.

You will partner with product, design, and operations to empower teams, measure progress with KPIs, and mentor engineers across disciplines. Occasional travel to Fanatics offices and events is expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience managing an engineering team.
• 4+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault tolerant systems.
• Knowledge of a broad range of design approaches and how to deconstruct architecture for multiple teams.
• Able to scope a project with targeted dates to meet business needs.
• Ability to discern essential features, triage, and negotiate with Product Management.
• Effective communication of complex technical subjects to diverse audiences.
• Experience with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong report writing and data-driven decision making.
• Thrives in a hyper-growth environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical expertise within your engineering vertical.
• Build and lead one or more teams delivering software while upholding engineering best practices.
• Clarify technical requirements, negotiate priorities, and manage projects to deliver on time via daily scrums.
• Clear blockers to accelerate delivery progress.
• Collaborate with product and design to craft ambitious, achievable roadmaps.
• Drive reliable execution by setting objectives, using KPI data, and promoting continuous improvement.
• Provide updates (KPIs, status, metrics) to executives and stakeholders.
• Identify where to simplify, optimize, or extend solutions for best outcomes.
• Assist with recruiting, assessing and onboarding diverse engineers.
• Be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and events.
