Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Ohio site to lead maintenance and engineering for packaging lines and related systems. You will oversee a skilled team, coordinate across operations, and drive improvements and safety compliance while engaging with site leadership and vendors.

The role requires strong engineering background, leadership experience, and the ability to manage maintenance strategy, SOPs, and performance metrics on a GMP manufacturing floor. Travel ~15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate or HS diploma with related experience.
• Experience directly managing people and leading teams or projects.
• Strong engineering and problem-solving capabilities in GMP packaging.
• Experience with packaging equipment and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and maintenance services and support to pharmaceutical packaging lines.
• Lead a team of maintenance and engineering personnel across operations for product assembly, label, and packaging.
• Apply technical expertise to maintenance strategy, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
• Provide on-the-floor support to reduce downtime and improve safety and compliance.
• Develop and optimize maintenance instructions, job plans, spares, and PMs.
• Manage selected maintenance contract service providers and coordinate cross-site communications.
