Job summary

FormativGroup is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a Financial Services tech org. This hands-on role blends senior technical authority with people leadership, guiding AI-enhanced delivery and modernizing legacy systems while preserving stability.

You will own architecture, code reviews, and the team’s technical direction, while coaching engineers and aligning delivery with business goals.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on full-stack development experience and leadership of at least one team.
• Strong Python, Node.js, and React proficiency for modern application development.
• Experience maintaining and modernizing .NET/C# services and Angular front ends.
• Proven use of AI-assisted workflows in real delivery environments.
• Ownership of the full development lifecycle from build to operate.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the keyboard: contribute production code regularly and guide delivery.
• Own technical direction, architecture decisions, and long-term health of the stack.
• Modernize legacy components while delivering new capabilities in Python, Node.js, and React.
• Hire, coach, and grow engineers; set the technical hiring bar and mentor with AI agents.
