Ovative Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our product and engineering team in delivering scalable software and data solutions. You will guide cross-functional collaborators, mentor engineers, and promote testable, high-quality implementations.

You will champion AI-assisted development while ensuring security and reliability throughout the SDLC. The role emphasizes collaboration with Product Managers, Owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical direction,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in computer science, software engineering, or another technical discipline.
• Experience leading high-performance teams, including lead engineers.
• Ability to grow cross-functional technical team members and guide personal development.
• Collaboration with product owners and stakeholders to drive business goals.
• Strong organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Influence and communicate with non-technical decision makers as a technical leader.
• Experience with one or more major programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java).
• Familiarity with web tech, SQL, and GitHub; cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS).
• Familiarity with DevOps, Agile/Scrum, and product development lifecycle; scaling Agile (SAFe).
• Experience leading Agile delivery and sprint planning.

Responsibilities

• Partner in sprint and interval planning with product and technical leaders.
• Support backlog refinement to ensure clarity and sizing.
• Lead core delivery ceremonies and maintain delivery rhythm.
• Use velocity data to set realistic commitments and improve delivery.
• Mentor team members and foster continuous learning.
• Provide clear expectations and regular feedback through 1:1s.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
• Translate business goals into actionable technical direction for the team.
