Job summary

Action1 is seeking a Dev Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for endpoint configuration management capabilities. You will combine leadership with hands-on technical expertise to help customers define desired configurations, apply changes safely, and maintain consistent settings across environments.

You will guide architecture, own delivery outcomes, and collaborate with Product Management to prioritize work and report on results.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software engineers and delivering production systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to guide architecture and solve problems.
• Proficiency in Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience building and operating AWS services in production.
• Hands-on experience with endpoint management or configuration automation.
• Understanding of OS configuration, policy evaluation, idempotent operations, and safe change execution.
• Excellent communication to align engineering work with product priorities.
• Professional working proficiency in English for leading an English-speaking team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and regular feedback.
• Own delivery outcomes within the agreed scope, provide estimates, and manage capacity/priorities.
• Collaborate with Product Management and EVP to set priorities and translate customer needs into reporting capabilities.
• Oversee design, development, and maintenance of configuration management features (policies, templates, baselines).
• Assess endpoint configurations against baselines and report deviations.
• Handle endpoint targeting, grouping, and policy assignment.
• Drive configuration discovery, compare with desired state, and remediate drift.
• Validate changes with staged rollout and rollback where supported.
• Provide configuration status reporting, change history, and audit trails.
• Guide technical decisions from design to production rollout, coordinating architecture and security decisions.
• Define metrics, reporting periods, data freshness, and data quality expectations.
• Coordinate with Product Value and core engineering on source data, reporting content, access controls, and shared infra.
• Own automated pipelines for building, testing, validating, and deploying reporting services.
• Apply AI where it improves development.
