Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead technical delivery and grow the careers of their team.

You will contribute as a technical leader or individual contributor, guiding cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver cloud-based solutions that align with Nava’s public-good mission. As a remote-first employer, you’ll collaborate with government clients and partners, drive architecture, and help scale projects while ensuring high-quality, secure cloud

Qualifications

• 10+ years in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably designing and building cloud platforms.
• 1+ year experience as a People Manager.
• Production-grade microservices design and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and container deployment.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/JDBC and ORM mapping (Hibernate).
• DevOps experience, preferably Jenkins CI/CD.
• Experience using AWS cloud native services and data engineering.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Engineering management and technical leadership for cross-functional delivery teams.
• Write code and perform code reviews; review technical specs.
• Collaborate with product teams to identify and mitigate technical risks.
• Guide planning, estimation, prioritization, and balancing technical debt.
• Review architecture and designs; design technical roadmaps and enforce architecture.
• Maintain production systems; handle on-call duties and debugging.
• Contribute to growing Nava’s client portfolio and business development bids.
• Engage in client stakeholder meetings and work with government partners on technical initiatives.
