Job summary

Attentive is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team of backend engineers building scalable, reliable systems for our AI-powered marketing platform. You’ll balance people leadership, technical direction, and execution while partnering closely with Product and other engineering teams to deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.

You’ll develop and grow a high-performing team, guide technical and architectural decisions, and create clarity around complex initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2+ years leading software engineers and 7+ years in software engineering.
• Backend, distributed systems, APIs, data modeling, scalable architecture.
• Experience building/operating high-volume production systems with reliability and performance.
• Ability to guide technical/architectural tradeoffs and lead complex initiatives end-to-end.
• Experience hiring, coaching, feedback, and career development for engineers.
• Strong cross-functional communication with Engineering, Product, and stakeholders.
• Experience using modern practices and AI-powered tools to improve productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of backend engineers to build scalable, reliable systems powering the platform.
• Balance people leadership, technical direction, and execution while partnering with Product.
• Guide architectural decisions, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive initiatives from design through production.
