Job summary

Victory Live in Atlanta, GA seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers across Ruby, Python, and .NET services. This role blends hands-on coding with architectural direction, requiring strong technical depth and the ability to translate strategy into executable plans.

You will hire, mentor, and align cross-functional partners, champion AI-native workflows, and ensure delivery without compromising team health.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience across production systems.
3+ years of engineering management experience, with a track record of shipping business-impactful work.
Demonstrated ability to set technical strategy and connect it to team execution, not just manage delivery.
Strong technical depth in at least one core stack (Ruby on Rails, Python/FastAPI, or C#/.NET).
Proven ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent.
Active use of AI-powered development tools with adoption on a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor your team, maintaining a bar for technical excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
Set technical direction across Ruby, Python, and .NET systems.
Spend 5-10% of time in code reviews, architectural guidance, and debugging during critical incidents.
Translate strategy into 12-24 month execution plans and own the narrative with stakeholders.
Partner cross-functionally to align technical strategy with product and business goals.
Build the team by hiring, developing, and retaining engineers.
Drive AI-native practices and push adoption of Claude Code, Copilot, and agentic workflows.
Own delivery by planning capacity and negotiating scope without compromising quality or team health.
